Betty P. Hopkins Burke, age 76, of Bristol, VA, went to be with the Lord Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Wellmont Hospice House.
She was born March 1, 1933 in Abingdon, Virginia, a daughter of the late John Sanders Hopkins and Martha Self Thompson.
She lived most of her life in the Bristol area. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband J.C. Burke, and a sister, Patsy Hushour.
Survivors include:
Daughter: Linda Kelley and husband Charles
Grandchildren: Amber McKee and husband Seth, Travis Kelley and wife Kristi
Great-Grandchildren: Anna and Charlee McKee, Colby and Kara Kelley
Sisters: Hazel Thomas, Peggy Dowell, Margaret Garrett, Helen Hockett and Sally Shaw
Brother: Jimmy Hopkins

The funeral service for Mrs. Burke will be held Monday, October 12, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Glenwood Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Mike Somers officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4-7PM Sunday at the home of her daughter, Linda at 3354 Reedy Creek Rd. Bristol, VA, and 1-2pm on Monday at the Mausoleum Chapel.
Arrangements have been made with Weaver Funeral Home.
