Mrs. Nancy Betker, of Pleasant Drive in West Bend, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital in West Bend. She was 81 years old. Nancy was born in Bevent, WI on March 22, 1933, daughter of Sigmund and Tillie Delikowski Podgorski. She grew up in the Wausau / Mosinee area and graduated from Mosinee High School. On September 5, 1959 Nancy was united in marriage with Leo D. Betker in Wausau. The couple settled in Milwaukee. They later moved to Cedar Grove in 1978. Leo preceded her in death in 2001. Nancy moved to West Bend in 2008. She was a longtime employee of Globe Union / Phillips Electronics in New Berlin, retiring after more than 30 years on the job. Mrs. Betker was also a longtime member of Divine Savior Parish, St. Mary Chapel, Lake Church. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, and baking - her family holds many wonderful memories of her great cheesecakes. Nancy also liked going on bus trips, visiting relatives up north and spending time with her dogs. She is survived by her daughter Cathy (Michael) Ferguson of Port Washington, son Keith (Emily) Betker of Fredonia, granddaughters Crystal (Andy) Kultgen of Cedar Grove and Lindsay (Adam) Cornelius of Kewaskum and great-grandchildren Isabel, Shawn, Cole, Sophia and Mason. She is further survived by sister Marcella (Turk) Jaeger of Wausau, 4 brothers: Marvin (Phyllis) Podgorski, also of Wausau, Stanley (Sherrie) Podgorski of Merrill, Sigmund (Nancy) Podgorski, Jr., Glen Podgorski and brother-in-law Bill Schwede, all of Wausau, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Leo, sister Phyllis Schwede and brother Gary Podgorski. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Thursday, September 4th at Divine Savior, St. Mary Chapel, Lake Church. Father Todd Budde will preside. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the parish cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday evening, September 3, at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave., Belgium, from 4-7PM and on Thursday at CHURCH from 10-11AM.
