Dr. Joseph E. Hall, aged 90 years, former well-known physician of Parkers Landing, Brookville and Emlenton, died at his home in Portland, Ore., on November 18, 1932. He was born in Jefferson County, Pa., on April 12, 1842, son of Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Hall, and spent his early life in Brookville. He enlisted in the 148th Regt., Penna. Vol. Infantry, and served three years during the Civil War, taking part in the Battle of Gettysburg and other major engagements. He then became a practicing physician at Parkers Landing and Emlenton, during the early oil excitement. He returned to Brookville for a time and then removed to Clatskanie and after a number of years to Portland where he retired 25 years ago. Dr. Hall was married to Miss Anne Jenks, daughter of Judge Wm. P. Jenks, of Brookville, who preceded him in death. Two sons were born to this union, Allan E. In 1888 Dr. Hall was married to Miss Fannie Arnold, daughter of Manassah Arnold, and sister of Miss Bertha Arnold and Postmaster H. H.
