The sad news of the death of Mrs. U. F. Bowen reached this city Tuesday. Mrs. Bowen was at a hospital in Marshalltown, taking treatment, and died on Monday, Feb. 27th. Her death is unusually sad from the fact a husband and six children are bereft of the love and affection of a mother and wife.

Mrs. Bowen was 32 years of age and admired by all who knew her. Mr. Bowen is a popular business man in the C. & N. W. Ry office at this place and the family have lived in Eagle Grove for fourteen years.

Mrs. Bowen's maiden name was Arnetta Earp, and they were married in Story county in 1888. Funeral services were held at the Restitution church, of which she was a member, on Wednesday, and interment in Rose Hill cemetery. Mrs. Bowen was a member of the Yeomen, and the Yeoman lodge attended the funeral in a body.

The sympathy of the entire community is extended the family.
