U.S. Congressman. Immigrating to the United States with his parents in 1878 and later settled in Denver, Colorado, in 1881. There he was employed as a bank clerk, (1889-1901), engaged in the warehouse business (1901-09) and served in Troop B, First Squadron Cavalry, National Guard of Colorado, (1898-1904). He graduated from the law department of the University of Denver, in 1909; was admitted to the bar and commenced to practice law in Denver, Colorado. He was deputy district attorney of the second judicial district (1909-13) and a member of the Colorado State Senate, (1915-18, 23-26). In 1929, he was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-first and Seventy-second Congresses, serving until 1933. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed the practice of law until his death a day before his 65th birthday.
