She was a school teacher and member of the Cairo United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two half sisters, Virginia Williams and Clois Yates; and a brother, Willie Melton.
Services 1 p.m. Thursday at Tapp Funeral Home, burial in Fairmont Cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 7 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Slaughters.
