Emerich or Emmerich was born in Douglas, Illinois. He was called Henry in the 1910 and 1920 census.

The Illinois Death Index showed that he was buried in "French Village" and the Catholic cemeteries for that area are supposed to be Mount Carmel, Holy Cross, St. Adalbert, and St. George. His grave has not yet been located in one of those cemeteries.

His place of death was supposed to be Ridge Prairie, now Fairview Heights, Illinois.

His occupation was "soft drink parlor" from the Illinois Death Index. A family tree shows that he was the "Founder of the Ridge Prairie Saloon, later Becherer's Tavern, today Dandy Inn, Old Collinsville Road & old U.S. Route 50, Fairview Heights."

His wife was Katherine Schobert. They were married on 6 Nov 1883 at St. Clair Church, O'Fallon, St Clair, Illinois.
