Vivian Alice Adams, 91, of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, April 23, 2006, in Greenville, S.C.
Mrs. Adams was born Jan. 15, 1915, in Marion, S.C., the daughter of John Williams and Estella Bullard Deaver.
She came to Oak Ridge in 1952 from McColl, S.C. Mrs. Adams was the widow of George Douglas Adams and both were members of Fairview Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Dennis K. Adams and his wife, Pam, of Pierson, Fla.; her daughters, Vicki Morton and her husband, Charles, of Greenville, S.C., and Jackie Roberts and her husband, Norris, of Cartersville, Ga.; her sister Evelyn Jackson of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; a number of nieces and nephews; and by 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her brothers, Derwood, Howard, Houston, and Hoyt Deaver. She was also preceded in death by a son, Spencer Adams, in 1969.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 27, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary. Burial will follow at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to Gideon International of Oak Ridge, P.O. Box 213, Oak Ridge, TN 37831-0213, and/or the Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries, P.O. Box 3352, Knoxville, TN 37927.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary.
