Dr. George G. Forbes, who came to Portland in 1895 from Nebraska in a covered wagon, died Monday in a Portland hospital. He was 99. Funeral will be private.
Dr. Forbes was born in Guthrie Center, Iowa. He was a 1910 graduate of Willamette University and a 1917 graduate of the University of Oregon Dental School. A Southeast Portland resident, he retired in 1965.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel; son, Dr. Stuart Forbes of California; daughter, Jean Branch of Florida; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
