Patricia Mary Bird was born September 17, 1936 in Steuben County, NY and died at home in Edmonds, WA on April 15, 2013. She was the daughter of William and Ellen (Sweeney) Anderson. After William became a US Forest Service ranger in 1937, they (and their Belgian Shepherd) drove across the country to California.
In 1966 Pat married Gary Bird in Upper Lake, CA where they attended elementary and high schools. They moved to Washington in 1970 for his work at Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Company. Her work outside the home was mainly office jobs, including several years at South County PUD. She earned a Philosophy BA from the UW. Her primary occupation was wife and mother. She volunteered, helping with the children's PTA and sports teams. She enjoyed sewing for the family and quilting. After their first child was born she began researching Bird and Anderson family history, and that became her all-time favorite hobby.
She was a member of DAR, Seattle Genealogical Society, Seattle Irish Heritage Club, Sno-Isle Genealogical Society, and UW Alumni Assn.
Pat was pre-deceased by her parents, and her brothers, Spencer and Bill.
