She was born on June 21, 1921 in Aberdeen, MD. Virginia was an Army wife for much of her married life and following her husband's retirement from the military, settled in his hometown of Georgetown, SC.
In later years, she resided in Statesville, NC.
Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Joseph R. Ambrose and daughter, Jo Sandra Hatchell. Surviving is son, Gerald W. (Sharon) Ambrose, of Mason, MI and daughter,Pamela J. (John) Reich of Statesville, NC, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Virgina, may be made to Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 29440 or Friendfield Presbyterian Church, 4049 Highmarket Street, Georgetown, SC 29440.
A private memorial service will be held at a later time.
