August Brown, Waverly, died 10:19 a.m. last Wednesday at Passavant Hospital, where he had been a patient since March 25. He was 59 years of age.
He was born Feb. 4, 1915 in Waverly, a son of Charles August and Mae Bridges Brown.
He was married to Marjorie Crank in March, 1935. She survives him.
Also surviving are his mother, six daughters, Mrs. Evelyn White, Miss Nancy Brown, Mrs. Donna Shearburn, Patricia Ann Creemens, all of Waverly, Mrs. Shirley Bettis of Chatham, Mrs. Marilyn Kirers of Virden, three sons, James Brown of Waverly, John Brown of Virden and Charles Eugene Brown of Riverton.
A sister, Mrs. Frieda Newberry, a brother Walter Brown, both of Waverly, 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.
Funeral services were at Neece Funeral Home with burial in Waverly cemetery.
