DAVENPORT - Irene L. "Booney" Schmidt, of Davenport, died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at the Davenport Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at the mortuary. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Davenport Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Irene was born December 9, 1920, in Davenport, the daughter of Gustave and Mathilda (Mueller) Suhr. She married Robert C. Schmidt on November 18, 1939, in Davenport. He passed away on June 10, 1989. Irene loved playing bingo, listening to music and having fun. She loved her family and grandchildren very much. She enjoyed being a homemaker and working at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. She was an active member of the Eagles Club in Davenport. Survivors include her son, Robert L. (Brenda) Schmidt, of Davenport; granddaughter, Amy Schmidt, and fianc?, Caleb Welte, of Bettendorf; and grandson, Ryan Schmidt, of Davenport. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and sister, Alice Plambeck. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Davenport Good Samaritan Home and her friends at CASI.
