He attended Lockyear College and Western Kentucky State College (renamed Western Kentucky University). He was employed by the Kentucky Bank & Trust Company in Madisonville, KY for 40 years after which he retired and remained in Madisonville. He was a lifelong member of the Madisonville First Presbyterian Church, where he served in several areas, including Deacon and Elder.
He was liked, respected and loved.
He was survived by his wife, Lydia Juanita (Ray) Wilkey, daughter, Mrs. Dan (Julia) Haley of Williamsburg, KY, and granddaughter, Laura Anne Haley of Lexington, KY. He was preceded in death by both parents and one brother.
