Mrs. Edith Bartholomew, 76, route 1, Alpine road, died at 5 p.m. yesterday at North Rockford hospital following several weeks of illness. She was the widow of Stephen Bartholomew.

Survivors are three sons, Stanley and Douglas of Rockford and Gene of Dallas, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. M.L. Patterson of Rockford; a brother Robert Geddes of Rockford; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A son, Lester, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bartholomew was born June 20, 1866, at Avon, N.Y. She held membership in Westminster Presbyterian church and the Union grange.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the McAllister-Jullian funeral home, 304 North 5th street. The Rev. James Benson, pastor of Westminster church, will officiate, and burial will be in Cedar Bluff cemetery.
