Kallie Jo Akemon, age 41, of Wellington, passed from this earthly life on December 29, 2012 in Amarillo, Texas.

Her memorial service was Friday, January 11, at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity Fellowship, 1305 Fort Worth Street in Wellington.

Kallie was born April 28, 1971 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Ray and Nancy Akemon. She was a longtime resident of Wellington. She was known for her love of arts and crafts and greatly enjoyed creating special gifts for special people. Kallie loved organizing craft activities for youth.

An animal lover, Kallie could nurse just about anything back to health. She was a good listener and always brought out the best in those around her. She loved the Lord and was bold in her beliefs.

Kallie left behind her dog, Tiger; four sisters, Holly Akemon, Lola Akemon, Sherry Goens and Pat Williams; her nieces and nephews, Misty Miller, Mike Akemon, Buck Akemon, Joe Akemon, Dalton Burrows and Aaron Burrows; and several great nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials to a favorite animal rescue shelter such as Forever Friends and Rescue, P.O. Box 222, Childress, Texas 79201.
