Nadine L. Day, beloved wife, mother, sister, god-mother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2007.
Nadine was born in Santa Fé, NM on January 25, 1962, to parents José and Mary Luján.
Nadine has been preceded in death by her parents, brother, Tony Luján and sister, Rosella Castellano.
Nadine is survived by her amazing family, brother, Rudy Luján and his wife, Fermie, sister, Viola Smith, sister, Priscilla Serna and her husband, Robert, brother, John Luján and his wife, Kriste and sister, Christine García and her husband, Pat and sister-in-law, Tina Luján.
Nadine has been married for 24 years to her loving husband, Stephen Day. They have a wonderful son, Christopher, of whom they are extremely proud. The same is said of their Godchildren, James Larkin and Jeremy Martínez. Her nephews are Frank Serna, Richard Luján, Tom Luján, Dan Serna, Rick Castellano, John Luján, Donald Martínez, Keith Castellano, and Tim Luján, nieces, Ruthann Piatt and her husband, Byron, Annette Larkin and her husband, Roger, Jeannete Martínez and her husband, Donald and Victoria and Jessica García. Nadine has many great-nieces and -nephews.
Nadine worked for many years for the State of New Mexico, until declining health forced her to resign. Nadine attended both the University of New Mexico and the College of Santa Fé. Nadine was a skilled cake decorator. Her delicious creations were a family staple for many years, adding joy to many family gatherings. Nadine loved and was extremely proud of her family. They were her life!
A Rosary will be recited at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Santa Fé at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2007. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Santa Fé. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming NE, corner of Wyoming and Paseo del Norte in Albuquerque. The world and the lives of all the people Nadine touched will be a little less brilliant now. Stephen and family thank you in advance for your prayerful wishes and many acts of kindness. Pallbearers will be nephews and Godchildren.
