"Elizabeth Olive Alspaugh, daughter of Rufus and Marian Carpenter, was born in Mishawaka, Ind., June 16, 1839, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed Leiter, Sept. 10, 1916. On Oct. 22, 1867, she was united in marriage to Henry Alspaugh, who died nine years ago. Three children came to this union, one dying in infancy, and Jennie, 26 years ago. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Ed Leiter, a grandson, Clayton, one brother, William Carpenter, of Mishawaka, In. The funeral was held at Mt. Zion Wednesday, Sept. 11, Rev. E. O. Mathers officiating. Interment was made at Galien."
