Mrs. Benedict was born April 11, 1918, at Deshler, the daughter of Ray and Louisa Van Horn, of Hoytville. She was employed as a clerk at a North Baltimore drug store. B

Besides her parents and children, John Jr., 16, James, 14, Jerry, 12, Patricia, 10, she is survived by three brothers, Francis, of Deshler, and Orley and Robert, both of Hoytville; and two sisters, Mrs. Albert Wolf, of Hamler, and Mrs. William Gerdeman, of Deshler. A sister is dead.

She also was a member of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Church and its Holy Name Society.

Joint funeral rites will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Martinian Snopek officiating. Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore. The Rosary will be recited Tuesday night at the Paden Funeral Home, North Baltimore. Daily Sentinel Tribune, September 24, 1956
