Huie Leach, 74 years, of Monroe, MI went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in his home.
Born March 2, 1938 in Speedwell, TN, Huie was the son of the late Curtis E. and Minnie (Ellison) Leach. The family moved to Monroe when Huie was a youngster. He grew up in Monroe and attended Monroe Public Schools.
On January 12, 1959, Huie married his beloved wife, the former Hazel R. Turner, in Monroe.
Huie worked as a supervisor for Leake Stamping, B&M Industries, and for Midway Products, from which he retired.
Huie enjoyed fishing, watching the Detroit Tigers, and watching football. More than anything Huie enjoyed being with and caring for his family.
Huie is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Hazel, four loving children: Mark E. (Becky) Leach of Monroe, Tammy J. Leach of Monroe, Bryan M. (Rochelle) Leach of Taylor, MI, and David M. (Michelle) Leach of Monroe, 11 cherished grandchildren, 8 treasured great grandchildren, and a brother Robert Leach of Monroe.
In addition to his parents, Huie was preceded in death by two brothers: Leroy and Estil Leach and two infant sisters.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe where funeral services celebrating Huie's life will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 1:00 PM. The Rev. Eugene White, retired pastor of Bible Fellowship Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle.
