Mrs. Laura Mae Lennon, 76, of Midway entered into eternal rest at her home early Sunday morning, Jan. 10, 2010.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Lennon Sr.

Laura, a native of Panama, established her roots here in Liberty County with her late husband in 1972.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, a son, Ernest and Regina Lennon Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Lauren F. Smith; granddaughter, Shavonda Colvin; great-granddaughter, Ramiyah Colvin, all of Midway; brother, Joseph Perryman of St. Albans, N.Y.; two sisters, Sylvia Nurse of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Olive John of Panama; and a host of foster and adopted children, nieces, nephews, friends and church family members.

She was the church mother of Liberty Prayer Chapel. The Rev. Katrina E. Deason is her pastor.

Her wake will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday. The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Liberty Prayer Chapel, at the corner of Gause Street and Memorial Drive. Interment will be in Midway Congregational, UCC Cemetery. Dorchester Funeral Home of Midway has charge of the arrangements.
