Donald, of Egg Harbor Twp, passed away on Saturday. Born in Atlantic City he was one of ten siblings.

He attended Atlantic City High School and served honorably in the U.S. Navy and the NJ Air National Guard. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and a member of the "Veterans of Foreign Wars."

Affectionately known as "Uncle Donny," he earned a living for many years as a professional musician on drums and vocals performing in many old-time Atlantic City venues, such as "The Haunted House" and "Lemon Tree" lounges, and in many clubs throughout the United States, and with the USO in Greenland.

His career was in Law Enforcement, serving first with the Atlantic City Police Department as a "Special Officer" on the Boardwalk, and a motorcycle operator in the Traffic Division. He then served in the Northfield New Jersey Police Department, becoming the first motorcycle officer on the mainland area. He had a lifelong love for his motorcycles. The rest of his Police career, until his retirement, was spent as an Officer with the Atlantic County Sheriff's Department.

Co-workers, court employees, lawyers, Judges, and thousands of citizens who entered the Atlantic County Civil Court house were greeted by a man who possessed a cheerful nature, with the gift of insight and humor that could make even the most stone-faced person crack a smile or just plain burst out laughing. He would always leave you with an Elvis-like, "Thank you, thank you very much."

He was survived by his wife, Stephanie Tullio; a sister, Danice Seyler (Ray); his children: Michael Tullio (Ana), Anthony Tullio (Tracey), Kim Tullio-Steinen (Jay), and Angela, stepson, Michael Poloske (Caryn), and stepdaughter, Wendy Stone (Bill); and his grandchildren: Rachel Tullio, Christopher Tullio, Domenic Tullio, Katherine Tullio, Anthony Tullio, Jr., Matt Whisenhunt, Mic Piorkowski, Katelyn Piorkowski, and Evelyn and Samuel Steinen.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing, New Jersey, with burial at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Estelle Manor, New Jersey, immediately following a short service.
