Becky was born in Bismarck, North Dakota on June 19, 1953 to Marilyn and Frank Himmel. She lived in California until the age of two, then moved with her family to Michigan. Becky graduated high school in 1971 and from Wayne State in 1975 in Michigan, then moved to Texas where her Uncle lived. Becky met her husband, Melton Aricheta, on August 3, 1981, and they were married on October 27, 1981, in Dallas, Texas.

Becky worked at the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas since her move to Texas in 1977. She worked in several different departments, but her work in the Mineral Metabolism and Vitamin D lab was the longest. Becky's work has put her name on a few research papers and in the UT newspaper. She loved her job and never wanted to retire, but after complications due to Multiple Sclerosis finally retired in 2012 after 33 years of work.

Becky passed away from complications from Multiple Sclerosis.

She is survived by her husband, one son and two daughters, two grandchildren, her mother, one sister and an aunt. She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Himmel, in 2003.
