BOSSIER CITY, LA - Graveside service will be held for Walter H. Harbour, Jr. on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Dr. Randy Harper, Pastor of Bellaire Baptist Church will be officiating the service. The family will be receiving friends on Monday, from 2:00 until time of service at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
Walter was employed for 32 years in the U.S. Postal Service and he retired as superintendent of the mails. At the same time, for 25 years, he worked for the Shreveport Times as Assistant Manager. He was a member of Bellaire Baptist Church. Walter enjoyed fishing, playing dominos and puzzles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter H. Harbour, Sr. and Cora Mabel Harbour daughter, Edna Harbour West and son-in-law, Bill E. Simmons.
Walter is survived by his son, Jerry Paul Harbour and wife Ellendell; daughter, Dorothy Simmons; brothers, Joseph Gardner Harbour, Harold Vaughn Harbour, Donald Eugene Harbour. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Harbour, Derek West, Dustin Hagan, Spencer Tipton, Sawyer Tipton and Erwin Tipton.
