The Pleasant Hill United Brethren congregation was organized in 1855 and met in the Malone Schoolhouse until the congregation secured property. A frame church was built in 1859 and occupied in 1860. The first church was replaced in 1892 by a brick church which still stands today and is an active Community Church. The exact date of the first burials are not known but there are several with 1860 dates of death. It appears that one child who died in 1857 may have been relocated to this cemetery to be buried alongside other family members. Many of the church's founding members are buried here. Notable among the founding members were Jacob Arford, Abraham Mumaw, Abraham Winklepleck and Joseph Boyd and their families.
