|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
~ Location, between earlier Methodist church, north along what now is Arthur drive, to existing site of Robert Riddick Smith's house (now 8441 Arthur drive), located south across road from Somerton Inn, an 'ordinary' of the past, where on Saturday, 26th February 1825 Marqius de La'Fayette, the last of the American Revolution's Generals, at his 1834 demise, and entourage visited the ordinary for fine food and drink, - - and as so noted on the map as 74*19D, Cemetery of Somerton Historic District ~
1-18-2013, Jeff Rau, of Chesapeake, Virginia noted, to wit:
"Now, the bad news. As I walked down the street I looked all around to see if I could find any trace of a family cemetery near [south of] 8441 [Arthur drive} as is shown in the [Somerton Historic District papers] map but I couldn't see a trace of it. I didn't want to wonder on the property without permission but I did look carefully from the street without any luck."
