Cemetery notes and/or description:
"My father once told me that my family owned land in the area and farmed the land (he called it the Sulpher bottoms) and that the town was named after my family. He said the town died out after the Highway bypassed the town in the 1940s.  In the mid. 40s my grandfather Joseph Horton and his family moved just outside Dallas County in what is now DeSoto TX, now part of Dallas County. My father built the Rod Iron arch leading into the cemetery in the 1960s, and  he would organize family/community reunions in the church there at the cemetery. Dad said many of the people in the area were descendants or relatives of my family.  The current owner is Mr. Charles Brookshire son of Elton & Maggie Brookshire his address: 1428 CR 2070, Commerce, TX 75428-7716.  Dad said that the cemetery started as a family cemetery when Aunt Lou Horton Scully was the first person buried at the cemetery in 1934.  W. C. Webb, was the second buried at the cemetery.  There has been a new section opened on the cemetery thanks to a donation of land by the property owners next to the cemetery."
