The cemetery has long ago fallen into disrepair, and suffered years of neglect. Trees have fallen over in the cemetery making it hard to find the headstones. So sad to know our ancestors graves have been forgotten and the cemeteries have been so neglected.
Stones were found for only 11 graves but they were spread so far apart that there must have been a lot more burial sites in this cemetery. Only two stones with inscriptions found; one illegible. The only readable stone is for the grave of Capt James Marlow who died in 1850. This cemetery is located on his old homeplace.
****
The land owner did not want "sightseers" as he called them. It took me over a year to get permission to go onto his land. So, okay, if one does not want people visiting the cemetery, the least the owner could do is take care of it.
There are laws, but no one within the official branches, thinks a cemetery is worth worrying about.
