This cemetery signage is located about 50 feet from Hwy 36 and after turning onto the road you will need to drive about ¼ mile to the graves by the tree-line. The property is fenced and contains lots of trees and benches. There are tall older headstones present, as well as large family plots with many plots being surrounded with curbing some made of rocks (native to Hamilton County). There are an abundance of iris plants, and "Bluebonnets", the State Flower of Texas. Several statues are seen in the burial ground, along with rock walls, and trash barrels. The grounds are well maintained. The oldest burial was in 1869. In 2021 there were 811 documented burials.
NOTE: The cemetery sign is difficult to see so lookout for a large round shaped building (currently red) on the left side of the road because the road is located immediately past this building. Jonesboro Cemetery is near the Hamilton/Coryell County line. The entrance to the cemetery is in Hamilton County on the south side of TX36 and about .3 mile west of the Coryell County line.
