These are a few burials in the cemetery from as early as the 1830s. The first directors of the Cemetery Association in 1866 were H. L. Barnhart, Miram Baker, John Custud, J. P. Eccart, P. Irvin. J. K. Smith, Laurence Bathurst and George H. Knisely. In 1877 Joseph Funk was president, P. W. Barnhart secretary and H. R. Curtin, treasurer. An acre of land was deeded to the Cemetery by H. Laird and Thmaszine P. Curtin in September 1920. In 1963 Frank and Bessie Fisher deeded two parcels containing over an acre of land.
There is no church or denomination associated with this cemetery. There are some early burials in the cemetery at the nearby Curtin Methodist Church. Many of the Curtin family are buried in the cemetery.
Directions to Eagle Cemetery:
From Bellefonte take Route 144 North to Milesburg. Turn right off of Turnpike Street at the Doughboy Monument unto Water Street (Old Route 220). Go 2.8 miles. Just past the Curtin Narrows Road ( which is on your right), turn right at the Eagle Cemetery Sign and go u the hill 0.7 miles into the cemetery. N40.58.011 W77.44.261
