Schuylkill Haven Union Cemetery is separate from Jerusalem Cemetery and the two are very often easily confused with one another, but they are incorporated and maintained separately. The boundary between the two cemeteries is not always easy to determine especially since there are no fences or noticeable gaps between the two cemeteries.
The two sections of Jerusalem Cemetery are distinguished from Schuylkill Haven Union Cemetery as follows. The oldest section of Jerusalem Cemetery (in the southeast corner of the cemetery complex) is fairly small and consists of mostly marble tombstones dating from the early to late 1800's. Tombstones immediately adjoining in the Schuylkill Haven Union Cemetery are mostly granite tombstones dating from the 1900's. The second section of Jerusalem Cemetery (in the eastern portion of the cemetery complex) was established in 1883. A row of very large trees is the boundary with Schuylkill Haven Union Cemetery.
Mount Nebo Cemetery, which adjoins Schuylkill Haven Union Cemetery, was started as a separate cemetery for the burial of "coloreds" (Afro-Americans). It is located at the very top of the hill past the Mausoleum and dump.
