|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
This is an old Black cemetery located on Hwy 157 in Plain Dealing, LA., just past the Plain Dealing Cemetery on the left west side of the highway. This location was donated by Jerry Carter.
There are some old grave sites at this location that are only marked by a rock and/or a stick.
It was originally the Mount Zion (North) Cemetery. There once was a baptist church on the cemetery grounds. The church site, and cemetery are dedicated. The cemetery is located on the top of a hillside. Uniquely, there are many hand made grave markers, and some from iron ore rocks. Expect to find interments in the tree line due to nature reclamation.
