AKA: Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Annex
The Old Baptist Meeting House Cemetery, also known as the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Annex, is owned by Oak Grove Baptist Church. It is said by church members to sit at the location of the first Pungo Church, which was the original name of what is today, Oak Grove Baptist Church. Some of the oldest graves at Oak Grove are located in this small, old cemetery. This cemetery is located a short distance south of today's Oak Grove Baptist Church. It is located directly across the road from the cemetery at Little Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, which is located at 665 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. The Old Baptist Meeting House Cemetery, along with Oak Grove Baptist Church, were located in Princess Anne County until 1963 when the city of Virginia Beach was created and all of old Princess Anne County became part of the new Virginia Beach city. Princess Anne County became an extinct county at this point but all of the old county records are housed in the current Virginia Beach Courthouse Complex.
