|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Mt. Etna Cemetery was first started in 1873 on land purchased from D. A. Aldrich in Section 31 along the south bank of the river in Lancaster Township. To protect the burials from the future waters of the Salamonie Reservoir (then under construction), the Corps of Engineers had the graveyard moved from along the river to Section 6 in Jefferson Township. The move was started in the fall and early winter of 1965. This location is about 1 mile east of State Road 9 on US 124 (600 S).
