|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Old Leesville Cemetery is located where the town of Leesville originated before the coming of the railroad in the late 1800s. At the City Hall, take 5th St/LA Hwy. 171 North two blocks, then turn right on East Mechanic Street. Continue until the road ends at the Full Gospel Church. Old Leesville Cemetery is not affiliated with the church but is located directly behind the building. The area is fenced, shady, and currently maintained by the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Department. It has five burial tombs in the center believed to belong to the Winfree Family. Over the years, this old cemetery has been vandalized, and stones have been broken and in some cases even stolen or removed. There are many unmarked graves.
