This cemetery is an old African American Cemetery for Bonham. The cemetery is not a perpetual care cemetery or endowment care cemetery as a result funds for maintenance, repair and care of the cemetery are not available. It appears the families primarily assume responsibility for the upkeep for their loved ones' cemetery plots. However, over time, as the family line dies off or move away; the cemetery plots begin to look overgrown, poorly maintained and forgotten.

Fannin County is located in Northeast Texas on the Oklahoma border. Bonham, the county seat, is fifty-five miles northeast of Dallas. The cemetery may also be known as Bethlehem Chuch Cemetery by elders.

Location: Where Farm to Market (FM)-2554 pavement ends in Elwood proceed west on FM-2554 approx 4/10s of a mile to a slight left bend in the road. The cemetery is located at that point south of FM-2554 in the edge of the wooded area.
