Outside of Bridgeof Allan on the A9 road to Dunblane is Lecropt Kirk (Church of Scotland) which served the rural parish of Lecropt (population currently about 75) about 3 miles to the west of Bridge of Allan. This used to be a thriving Parish of around 500 inhabitants in 1800 and although most were isolated farmers it also covered the Keir Estate owned by the Stirling Family.
There was another village called Lecropt further west and across the other side of what is now to the M9 – This hosted the church until it moved to its current location in the early 19th Century.
The church is built in Gothic Revival Style built between 1825 – 7 and designed by David Hamilton and William Stirling under the patronage of the Stirlings of Keir. It overlooks the Carse Lands, Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument (Carse means an area of low-lying, typically alluvial, fertile land occupying certain Scottish river valleys)
