Cemetery notes and/or description:
In 1845, the Fox family, which owned about a dozen slaves, buried a slave child named Melinda on the family farm, which eventually became the town's cemetery for African American residents. Named Fox-Hembry Cemetery. Though it sometimes falls into disrepair, local residents and businesses gathered to restore it in 2011.

This cemetery is hidden and hard to find if you don't know where it is at. It is located at the end of Whitmore Lane.

Directions to the cemetery, from I35E, take the Valley Ridge exit (#453). Go east on Valley Ridge to Mill Street. Go north on Mill Street. Just before you get to the railroad tracks/tressle/bridge, there is a gravel road (Whitmore Lane) on the left to the cemetery. It is on the south side of the tracks and runs parrallel to the railroad tracks. Follow the gravel road, it will dead end into the cemetery.

I photographed all of the visible markers I could find in January 2012.
