|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Rock Cemetery, that may also be called the Rock Holiness Church Cemetery or Knowles Cemetery, is located on a hilltop just north of Flomaton off Hwy-31, T-1-N, R-8-E, Section 21. The Holiness congregation abandoned the site many years ago, but the original church building and gate still stands as a reminder of olden times. The site covers about 1 acre of ground, unfenced and well-maintained.
When driving on Hwy-31/Hwy-29, northbound, cross the Big Escambia Creek and then turn left onto the Upper Creek Road at the White Pallet Co. yard (also designated as CR-25). In a short distance of about 500 feet will be a lane and sign directing traffic to the right up a steep hill to the cemetery gate. At the summit will be a small courtesy building (once the Rock Hill Holiness Church). The cemetery ground and ample parking is clearly laid out at the north end of the old building.
If driving south on Hwy-31/Hwy-29, before crossing the Big Escambia Creek, turn right onto the Upper Creek Road. Follow the directions above.
If driving from the Wolf Log Road or Robersonville Road, turn right (southward) at the Stanley Crossroad crossing and continue for about 12 miles toward Flomaton (the Traveler's Rest Cemetery is also on this road) to the sign pointing uphill to the Rock Cemetery.
