The original church location was removed when the new State Road 48 was built in the 1950's. The state actually removed about 10 to 15 feet in depth and 40 to 50 feet in width to make the road grade for the new road.
In this cemetery there are at least another 20 to 30 grave sites visible to the eye but no stones exist. Some of the stones found in this submission were found by digging them out of the soil and scraping away mud, etc. More work could definitely be done with a lot of help in locating and righting buried stones.
One final note. There existed a lone grave marker perhaps a half mile northwest of this cemetery. The marker was stolen years ago and sold at an auction. All I can remember is that her name was Polly Watson and she died in 1848. I located the grave once using a metal detector, so there are still metal remnants there.
The location of the grave is on Burns Road close to a fenceline that separated land owned by Knopf's and Burns, about 20 yards up the hill. There are no Watsons buried in the Old Hogan Hill Baptist Church Cemetery as far as I know.
Coordinates for the Polly Watson gravesite is 39 degrees 11 min 13.13 sec N by 85 degrees 4 min 24.3 sec W
