History: East Corinth Baptist Church had its beginning in the Old Ribley School House, during a revival held in the fall of 1866. A brush arbor was built near the place where the church now stands in the spring of 1867 and a new log church was begun. Rev. Morton was the first pastor and served for eight years. There were forty chartered members. In September 1892, a committee was charged with the construction of a new church. Materials were donated and members furnished the labor. This is the same building where members worship today. In March 1907, the name of the church was changed from Baptist Church of Christ at Corinth to Corinth Baptist Church. In September 1927, the church joined the Rowan Baptist Association. There was another Corinth Baptist Church in western Rowan County, so the church name was then changed to East Corinth Baptist Church. The other church became West Corinth Baptist Church. Rev. Johnny Daniel was called to pastor on December 10, 1978 and is still the pastor today.
