|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Oakland Cemetery was also known as Farmingdale Cemetery, Turney Cemetery, or Webster Cemetery.
It is located one mile south and one mile east of Durand, IL, on Route 75.
The land for Oakland Cemetery was deeded to the Cemetery trustees by Herman and Malinda Campbell in 1845. The earliest marker is that of 23 year old Henry Chandler. As the cemetery is nearly full burials are no longer made unless there is room on an existing lot. One area of this cemetery is kept in its natural state as it has a wealth of prairie grasses and flowers.
