Cemetery notes and/or description:
Sisters of the Order of St. Basil the Great to Uniontown PA in December 1933. On September 3, 1934, Mount Saint Macrina, named for Saint Basil's saintly sister, was formally dedicated. The gatherings of hundreds on Labor Day has swelled to many thousands each year for the Pilgrimage in Honor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, the largest and oldest event of its kind in the United States .

In the years to come, the Sisters established many other forms of service to the people of God right at the Mount. Skilled Sisters sewed ecclesiastical vestments, they sponsored weekend retreats for the laity, they published a small, Catholic magazine, established a girls' academy and boarding school, and founded St. Basil's Personal Care Home.

Mount St Macrina Cemetery was established in 1936. It carries out the sacred religious function of the burial and care of the resting places for the deceased. The Sisters are dedicated to the respectful care of the people of God who - even in death - remain a part of the entire Christian community. The Sisters proclaim through their prayers, words, work and example of the sacredness of the human body, the belief in the Resurrection and the Christian virtue of hope.
