|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
McCulloch Cemetery located in Point Pleasant West Virginia is sometimes listed on death records as McCulloch graveyard or also Waggener or Neale. The cemetery is located on private property just behind Krodel Park, behind the Fort end of the park. I have been there a couple of times and would list condition of cemetery as poor. In a Sept 2016 visit the driveway to property had been washed away by rains and at that time the only access was to drive along the railroad tracks. The landowner has always been very friendly and helpful, I have her contact information if anyone is interested in visiting. The last time this cemetery and death records where researched and published was in October of 1968 by Violette Machir . They are published under the name of "Waggener-McCulloch-Neale Cemetery" in the Lewis District portion of "Mason County, W.Va. Cemetery Inscriptions", Vol. 1. Additionally, it is noted that one of the previous landowner of the property, Andrew Waggener, it is said he owned several slaves before the Civil War, and the story that is told is they are buried on a hill in back of what was known as the old Pete Neal house in back of this cemetery. There is also a Samual McCulloch and his wife Martha Ann buried in a small section with iron fencing, within fencing is a couple graves unmarked and it is said he also had slaves and they are buried on the back side of the iron fencing.
