Cemetery notes and/or description:
This little cemetery is about a mile and a half East of Herald. It is in the woods on private property. The land was first purchased by Benjamin Vaughn in 1836 for $50 and he received Certificate #3856 (paid in full) in July 1838. Benjamin and his wife, Elizabeth, died in December 1838 and it is likely they are buried near this spot. Their daughter Virginia Catherine Vaughn married Enoch Newton Bennett and they lived and died on this land. Their graves were marked with cedar trees. Some time in the 1880s, their daughters, Pamelia Ann Bennett Wease and Virginia Sophronia Bennett Boyd, had the graves cleaned off and these 4 stone erected for their parents and two siblings
