|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Everton Family Cemetery was established by his widow on 1.9 acres of the homestead of John Everton after his death in 1870. The land was deeded to the Everton Cemetery Association, and its locatioin was noted on subsequent deed transfers. However, it no longer exsits. It was plowed over by a farmer who bought the land in 1938. A lawsuit brought by the Faribault County Historical Society in 1978 sought to gain control of the cemetery, but the judge ruled that it had been abandoned, and was no longer a valid cemetery. Old timers in the area claimed that grave markers had been used in the cement foundation of the farmer's barn, but those claims were never proved.
