Ege family burying grounds at Pine Grove Furnace.

The plot at Pine Grove Furnace has been badly desecrated and only a few markers remain but at one time there were many a number of unmarked graves or graves designated only by field stones without inscriptions. In other words the lists as given here are far from complete Pine Grove Furnace
Ege Family Plot
1, (Broken stone)' "In memory of ? Ege, departed this life on Thursday the ? of ? 1831. Aged 23 years, 3 months and 3 days "
2 Sacred to the memory of Richard Martin, Died December 30 1839. Aged 20 years "
3 In memory of Willam F Soars, Born May 28. 1850, Died May 6. 1860
4 Sacred to the memory of Jane. Condon of Peter Ege, who was born May 9th 1774. and departed this life at Pine Grove Furnace. February 1st. 1841. Aged 66 years 8 months and 22 days
WED PETER EGE
Note Jane, the wife of Peter Ege, was the daughter of John Arthur. of Virginia . ironmaster and builder of a furnace in his native state. Jane Arthur was married to Peter Ege. the son. Michael Ege. on Sent ember 12 1799
The tombstone of Jane Arthur Ege is no longer in place so the exact location of her grave is not known, the marker now leans against one of the trees that have grown up in the burial plot.
5. In memory of Joseph Ege, son of Michael Peter and Jane Ege, who departed this life January the 18th. 1837 Aged 2 years 6 months and 8 days
Note: grandson of Peter and Jane Arthur Ege the son of Michael Peter Ege who was married on November 20 1833, Jane Louisa McKinney. Joseph McKinney Ege was born July 10, 1825, at Pine Grove Furnace and died at the same place some two years later.

15 UNMARKED GRAVES
In addition to the graves listed above there are at least some fifteen unmarked graves in the Pine Grove Furnace plot and at least that many more marked with field stones without inscriptions. ]
