|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Woods Cemetery is located inside the Artillery Range of Fort Polk. There are six (6) mounded graves in this burial ground, and each one has a short wooden post at head and foot. There is no information inscribed on the posts. Prior to the establishment of Fort Polk, this property originally belonged to Lee Woods & Mary Elizabeth Perkins, who buried family members in this small plot located next to their house. A daughter of Lee & Mary Woods could identify only three of the burials. When Ft, Polk acquired the land in the 1940's it was gaven the name of Cemetery #10. Information from Jane P. McManus (email@example.com).
