|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
This small cemetery was known as both Phillips and Sarver at times. When Ft. Polk acquired the land they named it Cemetery No. 7. It is about a half acre in size, surrounded by a chain link fence and is located approximately 1/2 mile south of LA Hwy. 10 on Tanner Rd. Just outside the Fort Polk Military Reservation, but it is still in the training area. Just inside the front gate there is a smaller old wire fence that encloses the two Sarver burials. About half the graves in this cemetery do not have tombstones, but are marked with large sandstone rocks at the head and foot. The few marked stones have eroded and are extremely difficult to read, and one stone is completely unreadable.
