|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
On the west side of Rt. 45/6 (Cemetery Road) at the south end of Rosedale Cemetery.
The realization for a Hebrew Cemetery in Berkeley County began when money was raised in 1914 at a "Bris Mille" event in Martinsburg. At this time, there was one Hebrew Synagogue located in Martinsburg on Pennsylvania Avenue. In March of 1916 the Bash Yankev Cemetery Company was formed and in the same year they purchased a 150 ft. x 200 ft. parcel. The Beth Jacob Congregation sold off .2418 acre in 1997 to the Rosedale Cemetery Co.
Over the years, this cemetery has been referred to as:
the Bash Yankev Cemetery,
the Jewish Cemetery, and
the Hebrew Cemetery.
